Jason Wu Expand To Asia

American designers whose his name was skyrocketed thanks to Michelie Obama, Jason Wu, now begin to look to expand his business wing to Asia. This was demonstrated by the releasing his exclusive collection in Hong Kong. Therefore, Wu worked with retail chain Lane Crawford and celebrate the presence of the collection of Wu in Asian markets through a closed trunk show in Lane Crawford’s Platinum Lounge.

“After the Wu’s name jumped up, many Asian women who requested Wu’s collection, they are even willing to pay high to shipping a new collection of Wu,” said the company exclusive, as reported by WWD.

Wu himself argues that Asia is an important market as well as the U.S. and Europe. “Always, Asia has proved themselves that they can follow fashion trend from thre West. Asia has a good response to the major brands, and now Asia proved that they can accept new brands with the same enthusiasm,” Wu explained.

For the Asian market, Wu brought a collection of spring and summer of 2010 which was given a special touch for distinctive Asia. “Floral and bright colors are the forces of Asia and I added them in the draft,” explained Wu, who also will go to Beijing to open a flagship store and release a new collection.

“This is my first time to China and I am really excited. I want to be a tourist for a day and go to the Forbidden City,” said the designer who was born and raised in Taiwan.
