Women’s Bag Selection on a Budget

April 12th, 2010

Women have many options available to them today when selecting a bag. With so many styles, colours, patterns and textures, the sky is the limit. However, some women must keep their bag collection in line with their budget, unless they are lucky enough to spot a sale item. More and more women are finding themselves in this position with the rocky economy. When making your bag selection, there are some points women can consider to help them make a better bag selection.

The key to buying a bag that will last besides quality is the style. Trendy bags are not used long as the styles quickly change. For example, perhaps the rage at the time is to have a brightly coloured bag with a wild pattern but in a few months this trend may become old and so has your bag. This would be an inefficient use of your fashion budget. Typically, opting for more versatile colours and patterns can assure you that your bag can be used for many years without being affected by fashion trends.

Women’s bags that are extreme in either embellishment, pattern or colour are going to become outdated much more quickly than other more conservative models. Although if you do want a patterned bag, stick to neutral colours within the pattern and your bag can last longer than bags with more showy colour combinations. Also, you probably want to avoid colours that do not look good on you. For example, if you do not purchase orange clothing because that colour does not go well with your complexion, you probably should steer clear of a large orange bag.

Another pitfall some women are susceptible to are brand names. They are easily swayed to purchase a bag simply because of who made it. Again, this is not a wise choice when you are on a budget. Other factors are more important criteria than simply a tag.

Despite all of these tips, you really want to purchase one designer bag for your collection. If you simply must do this, select one with a neutral, versatile colour. You want this bag to go with just about any fashion style. By doing this, your designer bag can be used much longer which can help outweigh some of the price tag.
